Ms. Van Berkel joined Semtech in November 2024 as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Previously, she served as Chief People Officer at CalAmp Corporation, where she led transformative initiatives that strengthened organizational effectiveness and stakeholder value across a global workforce. Known for her strategic HR acumen and data-driven approach, Monica’s leadership resulted in CalAmp receiving Cigna’s Wellbeing Workplace award from 2021 to 2023, recognizing her contributions to employee health and wellness. Before CalAmp, Monica was Chief Administration Officer at EMCORE Corporation, overseeing both the HR and IT functions for a global workforce. Earlier, Monica held leadership roles in HR at First Data Corporation, Gateway, and Western Digital Corporation. Her dedication to fostering a positive workplace culture and her expertise in HR systems and compliance have earned her a reputation as a trusted advisor to C-suite and boards, particularly during complex transitions and periods of growth. Fluent in English and Spanish, she holds a master’s and bachelor’s in administration of justice from San Jose State University.
